PSG place 400 million euro price-tag on Neymar

The Brazilian ace swapped Catalonia for the French capital in the summer.

Neymar left La Liga giants Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record transfer after the Ligue 1 powerhouse activated the Brazil star's €222million buyout clause in August last year.

The 26-year-old had a high-profile spat with Edinson Cavani and has struggled to enamour himself to the PSG faithful.

Madrid-based newspaper AS reports Neymar´s father has met with Real Madrid, who are ready to pay 400million euros to sign the striker.

And, it is expected that they will push on from the result, hoping to push closer to second placed Atletico Madrid. "I believe it comes from the same source - his entourage".

Former Barcelona team-mate Ivan Rakitic said he would immediately open the door for former team-mate Neymar to return to Camp Nou. Since the acquisition of Gareth Bale in 2013 the LaLiga club have not signed a player of "Galáctico" proportions and the club have identified Neymar as the key player to lead the front line in a post-Cristiano Ronaldo era at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"When those figures come up, though, it does mean someone does want to do something about it".

"Probably, in some years, football will reach the €400m amount".

Barca, however, is not the only club Neymar is reportedly targeting as a potential way out of PSG.

The two stars were involved in a scuffle over penalty duties at the start of the season and that bitterness still remains with the Uruguayan becoming disenchanted with life at the club with the Brazilian around.

It added that police chief Michel Delpuech "will soon receive the directors of PSG to draw up a plan to stop such excesses".
